Level - Year 7
Our successful 12+ course is designed to prepare students for all aspects of the GL Assessment Late Entry Test.
Our online course covers all aspects of the 12 plus exam including numeracy, literacy and reasoning skills. We focus on improving comprehension skills, building vocabulary, developing problem solving and mental maths skills, to ensure children are confident and fully prepared for the 12+ GL Assessment. The classes are held online Friday 4.45-6.15pm (course dates enclosed). The course includes all material and two mock tests.
Our 12+ Online Preparation Course offers the same exceptional teaching that the children experience in the classroom, with the benefit of preparing for the exam in your home environment.
Your child will prepare for the 12+ in live interactive sessions. The course is a great alternative and comparable to physical classroom teaching. It is also ideal for parents who would prefer home tuition for their child, or for children who live too far away to make it practical to travel to Beaconsfield every week.
The live interactive sessions are run by 12+ tutors with years of experience preparing children for the exam, both in the classroom and online. We interact personally with each student in a face to face online environment.
A physical welcome meeting is offered before the course begins, to get to know the tutor and the children participating on the course (attendance is optional).
The weekly course work is shared online to obviate the need to print the work at home. Homework is provided using our online practice portal, which automatically marks and monitors results. Vocabulary workbooks are supplied for home study. As the exam approaches the full mock experience is offered in a formal exam setting either in the classroom or school exam hall or online, if preferred.

Our Other Services
11+ Foundation (Year 4)
The Year 4 Foundation Course gives children the perfect introduction to the 11+ and allows them to move seamlessly into our Year 5 Preparation Course in September. We focus on the core areas that need improving and we work with students to develop their reasoning skills.
11+ Preparation (Year 5)
Specialising in 11+ preparation for all grammar and independent school admissions, we ensure that every child understands, masters and perfects the techniques to tackle the exam. Teaching in small groups of six students maximum in Year 5 allows for individual attention and provides children with the best chance of success.
13+ Late Entry Test
Our 13+ covers all aspects of the Late Entry test including numeracy, literacy and reasoning skills for the 13+ online GL Bucks exam and Dr Challoner’s and The Royal Grammar School tests. We focus strongly on teaching comprehension skills, building vocabulary and developing problem solving skills. This ensures students are confident and fully prepared for the exam.
Summer Classes
Our summer classes have been designed to maintain momentum over the long summer break. Experience has shown that without the right approach and support, some children can withdraw during the summer and become unmotivated. Our classes are all about keeping our students motivated and enthused and we will be working with each one of them to consolidate techniques, improve timing issues and tweak exam strategies where necessary. They will also have the opportunity to complete practice papers under timed conditions.
Problem Solving Skills Course
Our successful problem solving course helps students to understand how to apply the maths concepts taught at school to solve worded maths problems. The course content is suitable for the GL Assessment exam. Strong problem solving and reasoning skills are crucial to success in the 11+/12+ and national assessments including SATS. Our problem solving course is ideal for students sitting all entrance exams including GL Assessment and CEM Durham.
Comprehension Skills Course
The course helps learners comprehend text at literal, inferential and evaluative levels, to approach all comprehension questions with confidence and is ideal for students studying for the 11/12+ exams.
